The hop begins at 9am, however I will be at the hospital with a family member, therefore I must post now. Thanks for everyone's understanding in this matter, and prayers are appreciated!
Yaaaaay! Its finally here!!! If you just arrived here and would like to start from the beginning please go to Getting Cricky With K Andrew http://www.kandrewdesigns.blogspot.com/ K Andrew is celebrating her big move across the country with a big road trip, and of course this hop across the 50 states! She has asked us all to post a little bit about the state we are representing, and then to post our Favorite Craft Project. I am representing the state of :
ALABAMA
Yep the Bible Belt, a church a mile!
I think the statistics were three churches per mile!
~It is the workers of Alabama who built the 1st rocket ship that made it possible for humans to finally set foot on the moon.
~Alabama is regarded as the only state having all the major natural resources required for making steel and iron. In fact, it is considered as the largest supplier of steel and cast iron pipe products.
~In Russell Cave, they discovered a skeleton of a pre-historic man.
~The official insect of the state is the Monarch Butterfly or the Danaus Pleipuss.
The Highest Point in Alabama
Rising 2,407 feet into the skies of the Deep South, Mt. Cheaha is Alabama's tallest mountain. This is our favorite place, We live about 15 miles from there! We were married at Shoal Creek Church, Its on the other side of Cheha, Heres a couple pictures,
I know something you have heard of......
The Talladega Super Speedway!!!
Tanya of Scrappy Scavenger www.ScrappyScavenger.blogspot.com
(ME)
Im first!!! Im first!!! Hahahaha!
Soooo, Last night I finished my very first Mini Album, Its not much but Im really proud of it!
I desided to make a devotional Mini Album. I used MyStory to bind it, I used the technique using hot glue, instead of the binding strips! It worked perfectly.
Im pretty sure I will make changes and add to it as time goes on, however it is a gift and I want to make sure she
has plenty of picture and journaling space to work with!
The silver metal button, sled through the butterfly charm, with gems and pearls, punched hole, insert button and fastened a black mini safety pen through the button eye to keep it from slipping off. Butterfly is Martha Stewart, I added the bling. The tags I stuffed in are Best Occassions.
Going to add a silver ribbon to the tag, just forgot!
Flower is handmade from handmade paper and inked crate paper, and cardboard stem. The pink flower is cut from a note card.
Daises cut from a gift bag, brown paper bag mat
Flower from Basic Gray Infuse
Basic Gray Infuse and Nook and pantry, the flowers are 3D with pop dots, and only the tips and very bottom of the stem are glued, so you can slip in a picture!
To tell you the truth, I had no idea what to do with this page
but we always had cook outs, so I added my Cook out stickers! ; )
A lot of different stuff mixed! Journaling Block, is from DCWV Berry street Market (My Hoarding stack) Making Memories and Basic Gray Flower (Infuse)
Flowers K and Co, Journaling Making Memories plus embossing
Same again added some embossing, The devotion tag has a brown velvet brad.
Crate Paper
Basic Gray Nook and Pantry, and Infuse, butterfly is Martha Stewart then I added bling to the butterfly and the small tags, to keep the tags from disappearing behind each other! That brad is velvet.
I used a ton of Basic Gray, Crate Paper, Making Memories, and a tad of K and Co, Martha Stewart, and Best Occasions
I bought a devotional book just for tags, It has made a great addition to my Scrapbook Nook!
Cheerio box was put to excellent use! My neighbor let me use his camera since mine is (again) misplaced, last I seen of it, I had it in my hand, and then....it just ceased to exist!
He gratefully and cheerfully helped me hold the book open, Good neighbors, where would we be without them?
What you cant see in the BAD lighting, I have folder-like pages and regular pages, pockets to stuff things in with corner punches in them, to add more tags. I dont feel like its "done" yet, I know you know that feeling!
Now I know what your waiting for :
Just become a follower and leave a comment,
and like My FB page, ScrappyScavenger
I will pick a winner with Random.org Monday Feb 14th!
Cuttlebug dies-Baby Face Font Set!
and Bird Stamps By Martha Stewart
Also, I will Give Away "Wrap It Up" When I reach 500 followers!
Please make sure to leave comments on all of the blogs for a chance to win a ton of different Grand Prizes on Getting Cricky's blog, from these great companies:Scrap N Tote, Scrap N Easel, Cri-Kits, Creative Charms, Memory Miser, Scrappy Chic Cafe, Loralie Designs, My Pink Stamper, Peachy Keen Stamps, Cricut Town, The Scrappin' Table, Piktails, and Pink by Design, And Every Blogger along the hop!
